A physicist by training and vocation, Fred Dylla combines a lifelong love of woodworking with his interest in watercolor painting. For many years he admired his two daughters’ artwork, Kim and Sarah, both graduates of the UVa School of Fine arts and began painting to have something to talk about with them. Finding the white-line woodcut medium is a perfect blend of his two artful passions. Fred makes his home in Lewes, Delaware with his wife Linda, who is a science writer, textile artist and gardener. Their needy terrier, Frankie, named after Fred's favorite crooner is a constant companion.

Fred is available for private and group lessons on this uniquely American art form.
